This video explains how our GPRS beacons work (starting up, positioning, sending alerts, etc.).

Check that your beacon is working: - The CEL LED should be flashing green slowly. - If no LED is flashing, the beacon is switched off. Turn it back on by pressing the ON button on the top of the beacon. The button is reinforced to prevent unintentional switch-off. Press the ON button until the PWR LED lights up red, followed by the beacon vibrating and the CEL and GPS LEDs flashing. Rapid flashing lasts for the time it takes to connect to the network. Once connected, only the CEL LED flashes slowly in green. - If you're taking part in an event by car and the organizers ask you to connect your beacon permanently, you don't need to switch it on. The beacon turns on automatically when it's charging. Positioning the beacon : - For vehicles, install your beacon on the dashboard using the velco provided by the organization. - For motorcycles, you can install your beacon on the handlebars (as shown in the video), or in an easily accessible pocket. Be careful not to put your beacon at the bottom of your bag. - For trail runners and cyclists, it's also possible to place the beacon in a pocket on your jersey or trail belt. During the event : - There's no need to switch off the beacon during stops (night, breaks). Sleep mode is automatic. - To activate the assistance alert, press the black button until the beacon vibrates, then stop touching the beacon and stay where you are. The organization will come to your rescue. - If the PWR LED flashes red, or if the organization asks you to charge your beacon, use the cable supplied by Owaka. Lift the protective cover on the side of the beacon, then plug the beacon into the mains or into a cigarette lighter socket for vehicles. The beacon is charged when the PWR LED lights up steadily in red (2 to 3 hours to fully recharge your beacon). - Your friends and family can follow you live on the www.owaka.live live tracking platform. You can also check your beacon's battery level by clicking on your profile. Warning: - For your safety and the proper operation of this beacon, we ask you to take good care of it. - Batteries are fully charged at the start of your event. If necessary, use only Owaka recharging cables (ask the organizers). - Avoid adhesives that leave glue residues (such as adhesive plasters).
